Command line
Run runesmith with the folders and files to open, or a runesmith:// link. When Runesmith is running already, they open in its window
instead of a second one.
Open folders and files
runesmith ~/code/app
runesmith src/Program.cs:12:5
runesmith ~/code/app ~/code/app/README.md
A file can end in :line or :line:column, counted from 1, to open it with the caret there. Relative paths are relative to the folder the
command runs in.
Options
Usage: runesmith [options] [paths...] [link]
Options:
-h, --help Show this help.
-v, --version Show the version.
--diagnostics Log startup timings and the loaded plugins to the Diagnostics output channel.
--new-instance Start another Runesmith instead of using the running one.
--disable-plugins Start without the plugins in the user plugins folder.
--safe-mode Start in safe mode: only the plugins that come with Runesmith load.
A link such as runesmith://hub/plugin/lumen.todo opens that plugin's page in the plugin manager; see
Plugins from the hub.
Put -- before paths that start with -.
On Windows, runesmith.exe is a windowed program, so --help and --version print nothing in a terminal there.
One Runesmith at a time
The first Runesmith you start keeps running for your user; starting it again hands the paths to that window, which comes to the front.
--new-instance starts a separate Runesmith anyway. A Runesmith with its own RUNESMITH_HOME is separate from the others, see
Files and folders.
