Problems
The Problems panel lists the errors, warnings and information that language analyzers and language servers report as you type and that builds report, grouped by file. CtrlShiftM shows it.
Read the list
Files with errors come first. Under each file, every problem shows its severity, its message, where it comes from with its code, such as
csharp CS0103 or build CS1503, and its line and column. Click a problem to go to it.
The Problems button on the left stripe counts the errors and warnings; click it to show or hide the panel.
Where problems come from
| Source | When it reports |
|---|---|
A language analyzer, named after its language, such as csharp | For each open file, once you pause typing. Typing pauses the check, and it runs again when you stop. |
| A language server, named after the server | As you type, for the files the server has open. |
build | During a build. Each build replaces what the previous one found. |
The same problem can appear twice, once from each source, until the next build.
